The Pantone Color Institute obviously shares the world's love of amethyst; they named a rosy purple called "Radiant Orchid" the color of the year for 2014. According to their press release, this lovely hue creates a "healthy glow" and boosts the energy of anyone who wears it.

Chevron, Chevron Everywhere!

Chevron, or the sophisticated zigzag pattern that is showing up everywhere in the fashion world from jewelry to scarves to hats and skirts, goes back to at least 1800 B.C.! Archaeologists have found it engraved on pottery from the palace of Knossos, in Crete.

The chevron was popularized in the world of heraldry. If you look back far enough, you might even find that your family's coat of arms was emblazoned with a chevron! England's Princess Kate has one on hers, which represents her family and heritage.

Surely most of us are familiar with the use of the chevron in military insignia. From sci-fi stripes on Star Trek uniforms to real live sergeants, we've all seen the design on our heroes.

Even Norway's curling team (notorious for their fun and funky fashion style) plan to sport the chevron in the 2014 Olympic games in Sochi!

The fall and winter months are approaching us and it is time to start pulling out the winter clothes and accessories! CHUNKY Jewelry!

Hi guys!!! Last week I spoke a little bit about upcoming trends and must haves for this fall. While I am still hoping to hear from some of you about what you think is popular right now, I have also come across something myself. I mention chunky jewelry quite a bit and I guess it's because it is so popular! I look around and I see chunky earrings, chunky necklaces, people wearing tons of bracelets, and huge chunky rings! I absolutely love the look and I hope it stays in style for a while!



I love the fact that you can be wearing a very simple shirt and even a pair of jeans; dress it up with a chunky necklace or your favorite pair of earrings, and it completely changes the look. There is no denying that wearing statement pieces, regardless if it is jewelry or the most fabulous pair of heels.. chunky statement pieces are in right now!

Another really popular trend right now is fur vests and jackets. While I absolutely love fur coats, vests, and jackets... I strongly believe that faux fur is the way to go. Even fashion icon Rachel Zoe says that faux is the way to go.. or if you would like "real" fur, then check out a vintage store! I love the idea of wearing a simple pair of tights, a plain long sleeve tee, and a fabulous fur vest (accessorized with a fab pair of earrings of course)!

Jewelry Trends

Hi guys! I wanted to talk about fall 2010 jewelry trends because I was asked "What is a popular jewelry trend right now?". I could think of a couple things, but I could not pin point anything in particular. I can easily look back and remember very popular jewelry trends, like the Juicy Couture Charm Bracelets.. which are still pretty popular but have seemed to die off a little. Also, Ed Hardy bangles were pretty popular to.

Don't get me wrong... I can think of a million "popular" jewelry pieces that I would love to have!! For instance, the Cartier Love Bangle.. a couple David Yurman pieces would be nice.. a gorgeous Chanel bracelet.... I definately would love to be able to purchase those items.. but I am talking about AFFORDABLE jewelry trends.

I came across a picture and article that was talking about "Bangle Stackables".. its a super cute idea and I think its a popular trend right now. The more the better, right?
